Kwara Governor Speaks On Two New Coronavirus Cases In State

Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, late Sunday, confirmed that the state had recorded two new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state rose to four following the confirmation of the two new cases by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday.

Governor Abdulrasaq tweeted: “I regret to announce that we have two new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Kwara state. This brings the total number of active cases in our state to four. We will continue to intensify our efforts to trace and test suspected cases.

“All hands must be on deck to flatten the curve of transmission in our state. Do your part: maintain personal hygiene, stay at home, and keep social distancing. May God protect us all.”

The governor revealed that a total of 33 tests had been carried out in the state, out of which four tested positive while 29 tests returned negative.

Governor Abdulrasaq had earlier revealed that the state had traced 75 persons suspected to have had contact with the first two cases of COVID-19) in the state.
