He subsequently cast his ballot and left the area.

Before he left, he hailed the high turnout of voters at the polling unit.

However, some residents prevented INEC officials from setting up polling booths in some units in the same Epe Local Government Area.

Sources told THE WHISTER that some residents of Ajaganabe Square and the adjoining Apena/Oloye Street in Epe did not allow INEC officials to set up their polling stations.

The residents were said to have claimed that they were not “settled” before coming to erect their polling stations and chased them away.

Police intervention at the Apena/Oloye Street was said to have paid off as angry residents eventually allowed iNEC officials to start work and election started at about 1pm in the area.

But it was not clear if election started at Ajaganabe Square as at the time of filing this report.
