Lagos Police Help Homeless Woman Who Delivered Baby To Hospital

Some officers of the Lagos State police command, once again, demonstrated why “the police is your friend,” when they assisted a homeless mother of four who gave birth to a baby on the road to the Eti-Osa Primary Health Care Centre.

According to a tweet on the police handle on Friday, the officers, who were stationed in Ikate Elegushi, got a distress call on Friday morning to render assistance to the woman, who had put to bed on the road.

“Our officers got to the scene and evacuated the new born and mother with her four children to Eti-Osa Primary Health Care Centre,” the tweet reads briefly.

“They are all in good condition.”

The latest gesture of the state police command comes less than a month after some men of the command helped carry a man in Ikoyi area of the state, and his wife who was in labour, to the hospital in their vehicle.

The man, who did not own a car of his own, and could not get any commercial vehicle due to the lockdown, had gone out and saw policemen on patrol.

He explained his predicament to the officers who promptly offered to help.

The officers asked the man to enter their vehicle and drove to his home, where the man and his wife were immediately taken to the hospital in Obalende.
