Lagos Tank Farm On Fire

A tank farm located in the Apapa area of Lagos is reportedly in flames.

The tank, which is close to the Marine Bridge, has reportedly been in flames for over an hour.

Confirming the fire outbreak, officials from the federal fire service said the facility belonged to Oando Plc.

However, as at the time of filling this report, officials of the fire service were in the fire scene trying to put it off.

The service warned in a tweet that residents stay safe and out of the fire scene.

“Men of the Federal fire service are currently battling the fire at OANDO tank farm by Tego Baracks, Sari Igamu. Stay safe and stay out of the fire scene,” the tweet read.

Recall that concerns have been raised concerning the tank farms in Apapa, Lagos state.

The chairman of Seaport Terminals Operators Association of Nigeria (STOAN) , Vicky Hastrup, had said that over 63 tanks farms were posing serious threats to lives, business infrastructures and property within the port environment.
