Mallami Hits The Ground Running

The new Attorney General of the Federation and Minister Of Justice Abubakar Malami, has hit the ground running as he resumed duty at the Ministry of Justice shortly after President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated his cabinet on Wednesday.

Malami’s resumption followed his swearing in alongside 42 other ministers at Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting that held at the State House.

THE WHISTLER reports that Malami was received with a cheer from the ministry staff and directors on arrival in a convoy with some of his aides and associates.

Malami in his response appreciated the entire Staff for the warm welcome accorded him as he entered the Ministry. “I am overwhelmed by the reception given to me when I entered the Ministry; it showed that we had good time together in my last time”.

The Attorney General is among the 11 ministers that retained the portfolios they held during President Buhari’s first term.

His resumption followed a directive by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, that all the new ministers should resume duty immediately so as to enable urgent preparation of the 2020 budget for quick passage by the National Assembly.

Others ministers who were sworn in today are: Chris Ngige (Minister of Labour and Employment) Rotimi Amaechi (Minister of Transportation), Hadi Sirika (Minister of Aviation),  Geoffrey Onyeama (Minister of Foreign Affairs), Suleiman Adamu, (Minister of Water Resources), Mohammed Musa Bello (Minister of the Federal Capital Territory), Adamu Adamu (Minister of Education).
