Ministerial List: Don’t Take Another Six Months To Constitute Cabinet, Pastor Tells Buhari

Mr Adewale Giwa, a senior pastor of the Awaiting The Second Coming of Jesus Christ Gospel Church, has advised President Muhammudu Buhari not to waste time in constituting his cabinet members.

Giwa gave the advice on Sunday in Akure at the launch of his book titled “Who is the Truth Teller”.

He urged the president to appoint credible and knowledgeable people into his cabinet, saying, “the president needs to give us people who are willing to serve their fatherland.”

The pastor, who urged Buhari to shun nepotism and favouritism, stressed that attempt to politicise the appointment would only rubbish his government.

“The president should not waste time in constituting his cabinet like he did in his first term in office.

“He should shun party patronage and give us technocrats, people with vast experience in administration and governance.

”I am not saying he should not patronise his party members who are loyal to him but this should not be at the detriment of the country,” he said.

Giwa also said he wondered why the president had not sacked the service chiefs, whom he noted had failed in the fight against insecurity in the county.

“It is sad that the president has failed to listen to Nigerians who are calling for the sack of the service chiefs.

“They have failed and should be sacked without further delay.

“Under their watch, kidnapping is on the rise, armed banditry is growing and senseless killings is the order of the day. So, I wonder why the president is still keeping them,” he added.

Speaking on the title of the book, Who is the Truth Teller, the cleric said Nigeria could only grow if truthful leaders were elected into positions of authority.

“We need leaders who are truthful and sincere. We need leaders who will be accountable to the people, we need leaders with vision to take us to enviable heights,” he added.

The Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, commended the author for writing a book that would reshape the mindsets of the people to be truthful always.

Akeredolu, who was represented by one of his aides, Oluwaseun Ojo, described the writer as a committed Nigerian who is passionate about the development of his country and the society at large

The governor charged the author to always contribute his quota to the development of the country.

The chief launcher, Mr Ade Aladetoyinbo, described the author as a true man of God.
