MTN Tops Glo, Others With Highest Number Of Voice, Internet Subscribers In Q3 2019

The Nigerian Bureau of Statistics has revealed that MTN recorded the highest number of active voice and internet subscription in the third quarter (Q3) which falls between July to September of 2019.

The NBS disclosed this in a recently published report titled ‘Telecoms Data: Active Voice and Internet per State, Porting and Tariff Information for Q3 2019’, which shows that 174,176,930 were active on voice compared with 174,024,116 in the second quarter (Q2) of 2019.

However, a total of 123,163,027 subscribers were active on internet as against 122,673,623 in Q2 2019 and 103,514,997 in Q3 2018.

The NBS data further shows that MTN enjoyed the highest share of voice subscription, closely followed by GLO, AIRTEL, EMTS and other service providers.

The reported added that MTN has the highest share of internet subscription and followed by AIRTEL, GLO, EMTS and others.

The NBS report said Lagos led other states with the highest number of subscribers in terms of active voice and internet per State in Q3 2019, and was closely followed by Ogun and Kano States respectively, while Bayelsa and Ebonyi States had the least number of subscribers.
