New Monthly Allowance For Corps Members Will Start When Funds Are Released – NYSC

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, Shuaibu Ibrahim has said that the federal government has approved the sum of thirty-three thousand naira as monthly allowance for corps members.

He made this known during a working visit to the NYSC Bauchi State Secretariat, and as stated on its Facebook page on Wednesday.

However, he added that payments would commence as soon as funds are released by the appropriate authorities.

He also said that the allowance as reflected in the 2020 budget, was in line with the new National Minimum Wage.

He said the new rate was the genuine amount, contrary to what is circulating on social  media.

Furthermore, Ibrahim admonished the Corps Members to always be alert and avoid rumors as well as the wrong use of social media.

He also urged them to avoid night journeys as well as travelling without authorization.

THE WHISTLER had reported that the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, had said that the recently passed 2020 budget by the National Assembly made provision for increment in the monthly allowance due for NYSC corps members.
