‘Nigeria Is Safe’ Police Counter UK Gov’t Over Report

The Nigeria Police Force has countered travel advisory reports the UK authorities issued to British citizens.

The United Kingdom Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) had declared 21 Nigeria states unsafe for its citizen, saying terrorists are very likely to try to carry out attacks in Nigeria.

Following this reports the force public relations officer, (PRO) Frank Mba, in a statement, said though the country is still faced with security challenges it’s still one of the most beautiful places to live in.

“While the Nigeria Police acknowledge that Nigeria is not without some security challenges, just like other nations of the World, including the advanced democracies, we wish to restate that Nigeria remains one of the most beautiful places to live in the world.

“We, therefore, wish to reassure Nigerians and the International Community of their safety and the commitment of the Police and other security agencies to continue to provide effective security services to the nation.”

The Police force on its official Twitter page further tweeted an image captioned “we’ve got our challenges just like others but Nigeria is safe.”
