PDP Begs Nigerians, ‘We’re Sorry For Our Past Mistakes’

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday begged Nigerians to give it another chance to correct its mistakes of 16 years.

The PDP had organised a public forum on contemporary politics and governance, where it received contributions from both the youths and the old.

PDP’s National Chairman, Uche Secondus, at the forum, admitted the party’s wrongs and apologised for its failures.

“The PDP was in power for 16 years and as expected, we made mistakes. We are sorry for our mistakes and when we return, we shall make this country better. We have experience, no any other party has it,” Secondus said at the forum tagged “Nation Building: Resetting the agenda.”

“The PDP has embarked on a rescue mission and together we will salvage this nation back from the grip of the incompetent All Progressives Congress (APC),” the party’s Chairman said.

“We have learnt from our mistakes. It was all part of our evolution process. Without it, there can be no maturity. I believe that PDP is more matured, to provide the best for this country.

Attacking the APC government, Secondus said, “We believe that everybody is aware now that APC government is using propaganda, intimidation, blackmail and running down the opposition.

“The fight against corruption can not and must not be selective. All anti-corruption agencies were established during PDP 16 years in government. Credit should be given to us.

“Boko Haram has not only remained alive but spreading under a new name, despite several political claims of dismantling it,” he said.
