PDP Wins One More LG In Kaduna Rescheduled Poll

The Peoples Democratic Party in Kaduna state added to its four local government it won in the May 12 local poll.

The PDP candidate for Jaba local government area, Mr Philip Gwada was announced winner by the Returning Officer, Grace Doyaro.

The result shows that Gwada polled 17,967 votes to defeat the APC candidate Mr Benjamin Jok who scored 7,401 votes.

Doyaro described the election as free and fair, devoid of rancour, adding that the PDP won all the 10 councillors seats in the local government.

The election for Kajuru was postponed by the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission following an order by a high court to stop the election.

The commission was served with the order signed by the state Chief Judge, Justice Tanimu Zailani, sequel to a suit no. KDH/KAD/567/2018 between one Capra .A .B Caino and Danlami Usman Stingo and the commission.

The commission had fixed Wednesday, June 6 for fresh election in Kaura, Jaba, Kajuru Local government areas as election did not hold there on May 12.

In the May 12 elections, the All Progressive Congress won 14 local councils and Peoples Democratic Party won in four.
