PHOTOS: Gov Umahi Visits ‘Boss’ Buhari After Joining APC

Two days after he joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, has visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

THE WHISTLER reported two years ago that while in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Governor Umahi had referred to President Buhari as his “boss”, with whom he had a personal relationship.

The Ebonyi Governor was led to President Buhari on Thursday night by the Yobe State Governor and caretaker chairman of the APC, Mai Mala Buni, in company with some leaders of the party.

Umahi had denied that his decision to join the APC was influenced by 2023 presidential ambition, saying the “injustice” done to the South East geopolitical zone by the PDP led him to the party.

“…I offered this movement as a protest to the injustice being done to the South East by the PDP since 1998 till date,” the governor had said during a press briefing in Abaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.

Meanwhile, following Umahi’s defection to the APC, his Special Assistant on Internal Security and Public Utilities (Urban), Egwu Chidiebere, has reportedly resigned his appointment.

Chidiebere’s resignation came a week after the Ebonyi State Commissioner on Inter-Governmental Affairs, Lazarus Ogbee, also resigned his position.
