rAPC Brainchild Of Saraki, Senator Alleges

President of the Nigerian Senate, Dr Bukola Saraki, has been accused by the lawmaker representing Nasarawa West in the National Assembly, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, of factionalizing the ruling party.

Adamu made this allegation while speaking with reporters at the National Secretariat of the APC on Thursday.

The former Nasarawa State governor said the emergence of the reformed All Progressives Congress (rAPC) faction of the original APC was the handiwork of powerful persons in the National Assembly who are operating the faction from the dark.

The federal lawmaker specifically said Saraki, who he claims has benefited more than anyone in the new PDP (nPDP), is the “arrowhead” of the rAPC because he allegedly seeks more bearing in the party.

Adamu said, “I told you these are people who have got felonies that they are hiding and want to use their positions in the party and national assembly as a facade, as a veil to hide from the felonies they have committed.

“The whole thing they are fighting is not so much (of) service to Nigeria but service to their interest and I did tell you that they are just staying in the APC to cause maximum possible damage,” he said.

On Saraki allegedly sponsoring the rAPC, Adamu said: “I have been proven right. I told you all the noise about wanting to stay and work for the family of the APC but they are just trying to create the kind of impression that in APC they had no deal.

“He (Mr Saraki) has benefited more than any single new PDP person and he seems to be the arrow head of this resistance now.

“They did not deserve the attention they wanted because it’s not founded in realism, it’s not founded in truth it’s not founded on loyalty or patriotism to the country.”

Speaking on the APC under the new leadership of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the Senator said: “He remains absolutely committed to make a success of his mission as chairman of our great party.

“I cannot say more than I will, we will, give him maximum possible support both at the national assembly where I am coming from, from the streets of Nigeria, from all the constituencies all the polling units so that APC would emerge victorious in the 2019 general election.”

On if the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the rAPC among others, would constitute a threat to the APC, the lawmaker said:

“The issue of threat doesn’t arise. I have seen enough Nigerian politics thus far and from what we have seen so far the indication is that we are dealing with 419-ers.

“All politics is local. How many of them can go to their constituency and say or do what they are doing in Abuja? I don’t call them Abuja politicians because they don’t deserve that, they are just 419-ers. These are guys who just go from place to place.”

Adamu said he doesn’t consider the rAPC as reformed APC members but rather thinks “they are rejects”.
