The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has lashed former Special Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on New Media, Reno Omokri for making hostile comments against President Muhammadu Buhari-led government.
Omokri, in a tweet had described Buhari as a ghost president, adding that the EFCC was being used to go after ghost monies in apartments owned by ghosts.
“Ghost President, with ghost achievements fighting ghost workers with an EFCC that goes after his ghost monies in apartments owned by ghosts,” Omokri had said.
Reacting to the comment, the anti-graft agency noted that Omokri could be President someday and so he should respect those ahead of him.
In a tweet on its twitter handle, on Thursday, the anti-graft agency noted that while Omokri is entitled to his opinion and could criticize the government’s policies, he should note that the least the president of any country deserves is respect of its citizens.
Reno it’s your prerogative to disagree with a public official, an institution or even the President but that office must be respected. (1/2) https”>https://t.co/Z1bMJDhqRp”>https://t.co/Z1bMJDhqRp

You may find yourself in that position someday and the least you would expect of anybody is respect. (2/2)
