Reps Reject Castration As Punishment For Rapists

The house took the resolution at Thursday’s plenary after it considered and adopted a motion on the rising cases of sexual violence in the country.

Representative James Faleke, during the plenary, recommended that persons guilty of rape should be castrated.

Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, had asked, just before the prayer was subjected to a voice vote, that what would happen to an older female who rapes a younger male.

Expectedly, the comment was said to have generated noise in the chamber.

The prayer was put to vote, where the nays had it.
