‘Rest In Peace’- Access Bank Confirms Death Of Group CEO Herbert Wigwe

Access Bank Holdings Plc has officially confirmed the death of its Group Chief Executive Officer, Herbert Wigwe who died in a helicopter crash on Saturday (Friday local time US).

Wigwe his wife and son were among the six passengers in a helicopter that crashed in the US.

The bank said via its official X account that with “heavy heart, we announce the passing of Dr Herbert Wigwe, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Holdings Plc.

“Today, we bid farewell to a visionary leader, @HerbertOWigwe, whose passion and unwavering commitment to excellence transformed Access into a global powerhouse.

“His legacy of excellence and compassion will continue to inspire us all.

“Rest in peace, Herbert Wigwe. Your impact will forever be felt.”

Access Bank Bids Farewell To GCEO, Herbert Wigwe

The helicopter, Eurocopter EC130 crashed around 10 p.m local time near Nipton, Calif.

The location is an unincorporated community approximately 60 miles south of Las Vegas in eastern San Bernardino County, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

According to Mara Rodriguez, a public information officer with the department, officials from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department were notified of the crash at 10:12 p.m. local time.
