Rivers Police Detain Two Pastors For Rape Of 27 Year Old NYSC Member

Two men said to be pastors of a new generation church in Port Harcourt have being detained at State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Port Harcourt for allegedly raping a 27- year- old virgin.

The lady is said to be a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps(NYSC) assigned to the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area and an indigene of Plateau State.

Both men have also been accused of previously raping a married woman during deliverance session.

Narrating her ordeal to journalists in Port Harcourt, the NYSC member disclosed that one of the suspects, simply identified as Austin, had invited her to come to his house on 29th August 2020 which was their senior pastor’s birthday.

A friend of the pastor also identified as David, said to be an evangelist too, joined them in the house later.

She disclosed that there was no reason to be suspicious since she has been worshipping in the church for over five months.

The victim narrated that the last thing she could remember on that fateful day was that the pastors applied a certain oil on her while praying for her and she slept.

The female Corp member said she woke up and found herself naked the next day.

She also noticed bruises on the surface and inside of her private part.

She alleged that the pastors also instructed her to “sow” her mobile phone as a seed before they started conducting deliverance on her.

According to the medical result presented to the police, her “hymen was torn and there were bruises in the labia minora of the vagina.”

Meanwhile, the father of the victim, who is a Police officer, and her mother are insisting on Justice.

In the meantime, the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Rivers State branch has waded into the matter and has assured that justice would prevail.
