Sanwo-Olu Approves N2bn For Victims Of Lagos Explosion

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the sum of N2 billion for victims of Sunday’s gas explosion at the Abule Ado area of Lagos State.

Sanwo-Olu announced the relief fund on Monday during a visit to the scene of explosion.

The governor had said on his Twitter page on Monday: “We are working with NEMA, NNPC and other agencies to make life easier for everyone affected in the tragic incident at Abule Ado which claimed lives and caused extensive property damage. I offer my condolences to everyone affected.

“I have instructed the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency to immediately release personal safety materials to the people living around the area especially to first responders and all safety workers at ground zero. We will continue to monitor the situation.”

At least 17 people were said to have lost their lives in the Abule Ado explosion, while several properties, including buildings and cars, were destroyed in the incident.
