Saraki Receives Backlash After Praising Gov Ikpeazu For Promoting Made In Aba Goods

Former senate president Bukola Saraki has received backlash on twitter for praising Gov Okezie Ikpeazu and Senate minority leader, senator Enyinnaya Abaribe for their efforts in promoting made in Aba goods.

Saraki  had tweeted: “Hello Sam, I am proud of what Gov ikpeazu, Sen Abaribe and the rest of the team have been able to achieve by repositioning MadeinAba/Made in Nigeria. Looking forward to reading more great news as you embark on your new position as DG Abia State Marketing and Quality Management Agency.”

But some Twitter users who reacted to Saraki’s tweet claimed that Ikpeazua and Abaribe have not made meaningful impact in terms of infrastructure to drive investment in the state.

Some lamented the alleged dilapidated state of Aba road network and poor drainage which they claimed scare potential investors from coming to the state.

A twitter user Okechukwu Kingsley, said Aba is like a ‘dustbin’ even with the presence of the Abia State Environmental Protection (Agency ASEPA).

Another user Amarachi Ohajuru, said “all that the Ikpeazu led administration does is to talk about non existing achievements and tax the poor citizens without corresponding result on taxpayers.”

Recall that in 2016, Saraki made efforts to encourage Nigerians to patronize goods that are locally made to boost and diversify the economy.
