“Contrary to speculations making the rounds in the social media… that the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has called off strike, nothing of such is true,” it tweeted.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of ASUU University of Lagos Chapter, Dele Ashiru, stressed “that nothing of such happened.”

“If we are going to call off our going strike, there is process that will be followed and nothing of such has been done,” he said as quoted in the tweet.

ASUU had gone on strike following disagreements with the federal government on a number of issues, bordering largely on effective funding of university education.
