Six Super Eagles Stars Who Impressed In UEFA Europa League Games On Thursday

The UEFA Europa League games last night saw an array of Super Eagles stars spread across Europe represent their various clubs.

Below are individual performances of some of the Key players for their respective clubs:

Victor Osimhen (SS Napoli Italy)

Last night’s game will be one the young striker will want to forget even though he was a bright spot on the night.

His effort on goal was disallowed and he later got a red card towards the end of the game after a second yellow card.

Osimhen came off the bench on the 61st minute of the teams 1-0 win away to Real Sociedad.

The win takes Napoli to third position in the group.

After moving from French side Lile, he has managed just a goal for the Italian club.

Leon Balogun (Rangers Scotland)

Nigerian defender, Leon Balogun, played for the entire 90 minutes as his team won Lech Poznan 1-0.

His performance was rated 7/10 which is above average by SunSport stating that he made early interceptions, showed decent pace and looked rock solid in his defense line.

He also got a booking for a foul on Skoras.

Victor Olayinka (Slavia Prague Czech Republic)

The forward’s lone strike was enough to secure the vital win for his team at home to German side Bayer Leverkusen.

The forward scored the only goal of the game on the 80th minute to secure the clubs first win in group C.

Joe Aribo ( Rangers Scotland)

Aribo came off the bench 69th minute in his teams 1-0 win over Lech Poznan.

Sunsports rated him 5/10 an average point for a substitute stating that he tried to hold possession and create chances too.

Kelechi Iheanacho (Leicester City England)

Kelechi came on for Jamie Vardy 20 minutes to the end of the game in Leicester City’s 2-1 win away to AEK Athens.

He had little impact in the game as he tried to win some aerial challenges.

He remains a second options upfront as veteran striker, Vardy continues to impress, scoring 11 goals out of 12 matches for the foxes this season.

Olanrewaju Kayode (Sivasspor Turkey)

Kayode scored for his side in a 1-2 loss at home to Isreali side Maccabi Tel Aviv.

He opened the score at the 55th minute but a 69th penalty kick by Dan Biting and a 74th strike by Dor Peretz made matters worse for his team.

He was substituted on the 75th minute and has so far scored two goals in two Europa league appearance for his team this season.

Samuel Chukwueze (Villarreal Spain)

Chukwueze was in fine form for the yellow submarine as he provided an assist for his team’s second goal in a 3-1 home win over Qarabag.

He was substituted four minutes to regulation time.

Most of these players are in Super Eagles head coach’s team list for the game against the Sierra Leone in the AFCON qualifiers.
