BREAKING: Buhari Is In A Trance – Soyinka

Nigeria’s only Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, says President Muhammadu Buhari is under a trance.

In a report by PremiumTimes on Tuesday, Soyinka is quoted to have expressed his frustration at the ‘unforced errors of the Buhari administration.’

According to Soyinka, the increasing agitation across the country following attacks by armed herdsmen on farming communities was one of the unforced errors he spoke about.

He said if he were to meet Buhari, he would tell him: “I would say: Mr President, I think you are under a trance,” he said. “The sooner he gets out of it the better. So many unforced errors are going on,” he added.

Mr. Soyinka cited Mr Buhari’s recall of the Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Usman Yusuf, after he was suspended for alleged graft by the Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole, as a recent example of the unforced errors that has characterised the government.

Soyinka was one of those who hitherto opposed Buhari but backed him in the 2015 elections.
