The suspended member of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin has questioned the figures contained in the pay slip of the speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.
Dogara, on Tuesday, released his 6 months pay slips for the months of October 2016 to March 2016 in response to a challenge thrown on the National Assembly by Governor El-Rufai who had on Monday made public his monthly pay slip and specifics of security budget as demanded by the Speaker.
Jibrin, who took to his twitter handle to question the figures, said that if Dogara’s pay slip is authentic, then he earns more than his principal.
Recall that Jibrin accused Dogara, his Deputy; Yusuf Lasun, Chief Whip, Ado-Doguwa and Miniority Leader; Leo Ogor of padding the 2016 budget to the tune of N30bn.
Following his refusal to appear before the House Committee on Ethics and Privileges, Jibrin, in October 2016, was suspended for 180 legislative days.
In a series of tweets, Jibrin who is a former Chairman of Appropriation Committee said that Dogara’s recent revelation prompted him to request for his pay slip from NASS, adding that that he will publish it and his monthly salary statement of account, “Perhaps I have been over paid’” he said.
On the 2017 budget, Jibrin said he has so much comment to make, all of which he will release before the budget is transmitted to President Muhammadu Buhari.
