You’ll Suffer ‘Painful Experience’ If You Run Against Me, Trump Warns Oprah Winfrey

United States President Donald Trump says the candidate he most wants to run against in 2020 – the next U.S presidential election – is Oprah Winfrey.

Speaking in Western Virginia on Saturday night, during a rally in support of Republican, Rick Saccone, Trump said the campaign would be a “painful experience” for the American media proprietor, if she decides to run against him.

Trump said he knows Winfrey well and repeated that he would love to run against her.

“Oh I’d love Oprah to win, I’d love to beat Oprah. I know her weakness,” he said.

But speaking in an interview with CNN’s Van Jones on “The Van Jones Show,” on Sunday night, Winfrey dismissed speculations she will run for office in 2020 but had an advice for anyone who does.

“I will say to whoever is going to run for office, do not give your energy to the other side,” she said.

“Do not spend all your time talking about your opponents. Do not give your energy to that which you really don’t believe in. Do not spend an ounce of your time on that.
Winfrey added that though a bid for the presidency wasn’t for her, “The noise about running for president moved me so humbly and deeply.”

“It means that you have somewhere in the work gained the people’s trust,” she told Jones.

Speculation mounted earlier this year that the talk show host might seek the presidency in 2020, following a captivating speech at the Golden Globes in January.
