Suicide Bomber kills over 18 in Maiduguiri

A suspected suicide bomber attacked another mosque during early morning prayers in Maiduguiri, killing over 18 persons and injuring many others, on Friday, the country’s National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said.

The blast which went off at exactly 5:05am, occurred in Jiddari Polo area, located behind the Federal High Court complex, Maiduguiri, the capital of Borno State, North-east Nigeria.

A Joint Task Force (JTF) operative, present at the scene, who confirmed the attack, said the force alongside NEMA officials have recovered 18 bodies, who have being moved to the hospital.

He said: “So far, we have evacuated 18 bodies to the hospital alongside many injured ones that are almost lifeless.

“It was a lone male suicide bomber even though we all heard two explosions”.
