Tinubu, APC Govs Defy Rain In Akure To Campaign For Akerelodu

The Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni who is also the Chairman, APC National Caretaker Committe, led governors of some APC states and former governors including Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to Akure on Saturday to campaign for Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s re-election.

Also, a former Interim National Chairman of the APC who is also a former Governor of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande stormed Akure to canvass votes for Akeredolu in the October 10 governorship poll.

The governors and the huge crowd of party members and supporters that attended the event defied the rain and waited for over three hours that the rally lasted.

Apart from Buni, other governors in attendance at the rally were Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Abubakar Bagudu; Chairman Ondo APC National Campaign Council and Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwoolu and Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje,.

Others were: Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AdulRasak, Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola, Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Sani Bello of Niger State, and the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief David Onoja.

The Ministers for Transport, Rotimi Ameachi, Minister of State for Petroleum, Timipre Silva, Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Tayo Alasoadura and others were present

The chairman of the National caretaker committee of the party, Buni said the people of the state must not allow anyone to truncate the developmental stride of the Akeredolu administration. He urged them to vote for Akeredolu again.

The chairman of the National campaign council, Sanwoolu said Akeredolu has performed creditably well and deserves to be re-elected for a second term in office.

He said the APC would continue to take the welfare of the people very serious, adding that Governor Akeredolu has done the party proud with his performance in the last three and a half years.

Fayemi said Akeredolu projects are scattered across the three senatorial districts of the state with unique and deliberate qualities.

Tinubu said Akeredolu had performed excellently and the people should vote for him tocontinue for another term.

He said, ”Among the laudable projects he has done is the Ore Industrial Hub which was inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari. That industrial hub will bring needed employment and economic development to the deserving people living in the Ore vicinity.”

Akeredolu said he was prepared to do more than what his administration had recorded in his first term.

He urged the people not to allow anybody to woo them to vote for those who he said would reverse the gains already recorded.
