U.S Vs Iran: ‘We’re In Dangerous Moment,’ Saudi Arabia Warns Against Escalation

Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan has called on parties involved in the Middle East tension to take steps to avoid further escalation.

He made this known Monday in a press conference in Riyahd days the US Iran tension as a result of the killing of Qesem Soleimani.

According to Faisal, “We are very keen that the situation in the region doesn’t escalate any further.”

“It’s certainly a very dangerous moment and we have to be conscious of the risks and dangers not just to the region but to wider global security.”

Saudi Arabia though a part and major actor in the Middle East has been neutral over the issue as it is protecting its diplomatic ties with the US.

The US and Saudi Arabia have a longstanding security relationship as Saudi Arabia is the United States’ largest foreign military sales (FMS) customer, with more than $100 billion in active purchase of military equipment.
