Speaking on the new law, the leader of the LGA’s councillors, Sa’idu Marma, said the move become necessary due to rising complaints of unwanted pregnancies from parents.

Marma said the unwanted pregnancies were as a result of night meetings and discussion between the opposite sexes.

On his part, the Chief Imam, Ali Liman, described the move as a welcome development.

Liman decried the high rate of immoral activities among boys and girls in the state, saying the new law would address the problem.

Meanwhile, the development came barely a week after Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State banned residents of the state from boarding the same commercial tricycles with the opposite sex.
