We’ll Roll Out 600 New Buses August, Complete Pen Cinema Bridge October- Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said the state will roll out additional new 600 high capacity buses in August to ease the problem of transport being faced by the people of the state.

The number of the passengers each vehicle is allowed to carry has greatly reduced due to enforcement of COVID-19 protocols and the governor said the new buses would be deployed to ease the problem this had created.

The governor also promised that the construction of the overhead bridge at the Pen Cinema in Agege would be completed in October.

Sanwo-Olu said this on Saturday night on his Twitter handle after going round the state to inspect the flow of traffic on the Third Mainland Bridge which was partially closed for repairs on Friday and also to inspect some road construction works in other parts of the state.

The governor said his administration was committed to doing things to make life better for the people of the state while promising that this would not stop.

The tweets read, “To boost public transportation, we will roll out 600 buses that will service Ikorodu, Abule Egba, Ikeja and Oshodi.

” The buses will be deployed next month. We will also be increasing bus capacity from Ikorodu to Tafawa Balewa Square.

“It is important to say again that despite the decrease in the pace of work caused by #COVID-19 on the Pen Cinema Agege Bridge, I want to assure Lagosians that it will be completed by October.

“We remain undaunted in our commitment to improve the quality of lives of Lagosians.”

The governor also said he was impressed with the work done at Allen Junction and Lekki Roundabouts, saying these would ease traffic snarl on the roads.

He said, “Earlier today, (Saturday) I stopped at the Adeniji Adele end of the Third Mainland Bridge to inspect the ongoing effort to ensure the diversion and flow of traffic is on course.
