Wike Stockpiling Rivers Federal Allocations In Abuja Mansion – APC

The Rivers All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Nyesom Wike of stockpiling the state’s three years federal allocation in his mansion in Abuja.

This, the Rivers APC claimed, is why Governor Wike has been resisting all efforts by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to search his house in Abuja.

The State’s APC Chairman, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, alleged that the governor stashed away the state’s allocation while only spending local government allocations to run the state.

“Since Wike came into office, he has not spent state allocations on anything. What he has been spending is local government fund. Our state allocations since he came to office are in his Abuja residence, that is why he does not want police or EFCC to search the house,” Flag-Amachree said in Ahoada East Constituency while receiving a defecting PDP lawmaker, Martins Mannah, into the APC.

Refuting the claim, however, the Rivers Commissioner of Information, Mr Emma Okah, said his principal doesn’t tamper with allocations meant for local governments in the state.

“Even though the allegation is false, but if the governor is using local government allocations to run the state and the people are happy because they can see projects, that it is okay. Wike does not touch the state local government allocations, that I know. When the allocations come, the caretaker committee chairmen receive them.

“Ojukaye does not understand what governance is all about. Governor Wike’s house in Abuja is not the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN and Rivers allocations are not sent there. Ojukaye is only a factional chairman of APC and does not know what he is saying,” said Okah.
