There are indications that the Presidency has ordered investigation into how funds released to security agencies for the 2015 Presidential election, was managed.

The directive may have informed the raid of the residence of a former Director General of the State Security Service, Mr. Ita Ekpenyong by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday in Abuja.

Ekpenyong as at 6:50pm undergoing interrogation by operatives of the commission but with no indication that he will be detained.

The investigation is to determine their involvement or otherwise in the expenditure of the cash.

Those targeted in the probe include immediate past Director-General of the SSS, Lawal Daura, his predecessor, Ita Ekpenyong and a former Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, NIA, Ayo Oke.

Oke was embroiled in cash haul last year leading to his sack.
