The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has said 102 local government areas in 28 states across the country will be affected by flood.
This was disclosed in a statement by NEMA director-general, Muhammadu A Muhammed on Friday.
Amongst the high risk locations listed include Kaura and Zaria Local Government Areas of Kaduna state.
According to the DG, the yearly rainfall prediction (SRP) and annual flood outlook (AFO) released by the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) predicted floods in June.
Muhammed called on the state emergency management agencies to prepared for evacuation of residents of communities that would be affected by the floods.
He also advised governments to sensitize the residents on the alert.
“That refuse, weeds, water hyacinths should be removed from drainages, water channels and all avenues for river run-offs so as to allow free flow of flood waters,” the director-general said.
