82,000 Americans Missing Globally – U.S. Defence Dept

The United States Department of Defence says about 82,000 Americans are missing across the world.

US Defence Department Secretary, Mark T. Esper, disclosed this on Friday.

The U.S. also celebrated the 73rd year of the founding of its Air Force.

Esper stressed that some of its officials and citizens were captured in the line of duty by other countries.

But, he added that the country would continue to negotiate their release.

“Never leave a man behind, the refrain of our military family in the field, echoes today as 82,000 Americans remain missing.

“We will never stop searching for our fallen and pressing for the release of those captured,” he tweeted on Friday.

On its Air Force, US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, maintained that it had over the years protected the country’s sovereignty with tact.

“We join our airmen of the @USAirForce in celebrating 73 years of excellence.

” Your service on behalf of America is nothing short of heroic, and we’re proud to have you as partners in safeguarding the security of the American people and our nation,” he stated.
