9/11: Bin Laden’s Niece Condoles With America Over 2001 Terror Attacks

Niece to the late Al-Qaeda founder, Osama Bin Laden, Noor, has condoled with Americans over the September 2001 attack on US soil by the terrorist group.

The attack, masterminded by Bin Laden, had led to the loss of thousands of lives and the destruction of properties, including the twin towers of the World Trade Centre.

It also sparked off a US military invasion in parts of the Middle East.

Noor Bin Ladin issued her condolences on Friday, in a statement floated on her Twitter handle.

Recall that Bin Laden was eventually killed in Pakistan on May 2, 2011, by US military forces.

Noor stated that though the 9/11 event had shaped the world’s perception of her family, she still felt pained by the lives lost.

Her full statement reads:

“For the past nineteen years, not a day has gone by since this horrific, tragic day that I haven’t thought of you, America, and grieved privately with you for all the innocent lives lost.

“This is in part due to this inexplicable turn of fate that links me to these atrocious attacks, but more importantly because of my love for your country.

“As I have written to you in my letter: the values and feelings I hold are diametrically opposed to the name that I bear.

“I, for one, will never forget.

“The direct victims of this tragedy, and those who lost their lives from complications subsequently.

“The heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice to help those in danger, the first responders, the brave members of FDNY, NYPD and Port Authority.

“The survivors and those who rebuilt the ruins and rallied together, showing tremendous courage in the face of horror.

“Those left behind who miss their loved ones every day.

“Today my thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families especially and America, as it always has been and always will.

“Noor Bin Ladin”
