Abacha Loot: Buhari To Share $322m Stolen From Niger Delta To Northerners – Omokri

A media aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has called for a restructuring of the country as the Federal Government released the list of states whose “poor” citizens will benefit from the sharing of the $322m Abacha loot recently recovered from the Swiss government.

Omokri noted that out of the 19 states on the list, only one Niger Delta state was listed as a beneficiary.

The Federal Government, on Thursday, announced that it will commence disbursement of the recovered 322 million dollars Abacha loot through Conditional Cash Transfers (CCT) to 302,000 poor households in the 19 states starting from July.

The government disclosed that the 19 states to benefit from the recovered loot are Niger, Kogi, Ekiti, Osun, Oyo, Kwara, Cross River, Bauchi, Gombe, Jigawa, Benue, Taraba, Adamawa, Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Plateau, Nasarrawa, Anambra and Internally Displaced Camps (IDPs) in Borno.

Reacting, however, Omokiri wondered why only one Niger Delta state was on the list even though the said loot which Abacha stole was gotten through oil revenue allegedly generated from the oil-rich Niger Delta region.
