Abike Dabiri’s Tweets On Arraignment Of 11 Nigerians In U.S. Draw Reactions

The Chairperson of the Nigerian in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has appreciated the United States government and Nigeria’s anti-graft agency for apprehending about 11 Nigerians indicted in $6 million internet fraud.

She disclosed that the suspects have been arraigned in the U.S.

She also thanked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for its collaboration with the FBI to clamp down on corrupt practices.

“Kudos toEfcc @officialEFC and the FBI for jointly tackling fraud as US arraigns 11 Nigerians over $6m fraud,” she had tweeted on Monday.

She listed their names as :
“Yinka Olaseinde, Tunde Adeowo, Tunde Oke, Ahmmed Ponle, Sulaiman Dosunmu, Rafiat Sarumi, Margiettu Kamu, Kunle Owolabi, Gbenga Oyedele, Niyi Alayande, A. Muritala.”

Recall that the FBI had last week, beamed the search light on 6 Nigerians for their role in various forms of cyber fraud.

Meanwhile, Abike’s tweet generated different reactions from fellow Nigerians.

While some backed and said criminal elements should be fished out for the betterment of the country, others claimed that statements such as hers were the reasons Nigerians and blacks generally, were being maltreated in foreign lands.
