ABUJA: Kidnappers Demand Two Motorcycles To Release 11 Bwari Victims

Kidnappers who abducted 23 residents from the Kawu community in Bwari Area Council of Abuja have reportedly demanded two Bajaj motorcycles to free the remaining victims.

Recall that 23 residents were abducted from their homes on December 26, 2023. Four victims had escaped, and four were subsequently released, leaving 11 in captivity.

Family members who spoke to Daily Trust revealed that the abductors received N5 million after they threatened to kill the captives, two weeks ago.

The affected families also delivered additional funds — over N3 million this week — and other food items with the hope of securing their (victims) release.

The paper reports that those who delivered the ransom returned with fresh demands from the abductors for motorcycles to release the victims.

Over 30 residents have been abducted from various areas of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the past month, accompanied by huge ransoms paid for their freedom.

The FCT Police, have, however, pledged to clamp down on the menace of kidnap and related incidents in Abuja and its outskirts environs.
