Ag. President Osinbajo To Flag-off Lagos-Ibadan Railway Tuesday

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo will on Tuesday, flag-off the construction of the $1.5bn standard gauge rail line from Lagos to Ibadan, the Federal Government has said.

The government in a statement via its official twitter handle, noted that the proposed156.65km Lagos-Ibadan rail is a segment of the new Lagos-Kano standard-gauge railway.

The statement further added that the new standard gauge will include an extension to the Lagos Port Complex in Apapa.

Already arrangements have been completed for the historic ground breaking by the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) under the supervision of the Ministry of Transportation.

Osinbajo is currently in Benin, Edo State as part of the Federal Government’s interactive tour of oil producing communities.

The Vice President has since visited Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Imo and Akwa Ibom states.
