Recall that President Buhari had approved the said order, so as to grant autonomy to state legislature and judiciary, as contained in Section 121(3) of the 1999 Constitution of the country.

As such, Malami, while lauding the governors for their understanding, called for ” more inter-agency support for the Order which he said will accelerate development Nigerian masses have been clamouring for.”

He added that the implementation Committee would work with the recommendations from the Governor’s Forum and other stakeholders, thereby ensuring the practicability of the order.

“In furtherance of the implementation of the Order, the Federal Government and Nigerian Governors’ Forum are jointly working on modalities for effective implementation of the order,” the statement read in part.
