Anambra: Fuel Tanker Explodes In Onitsha Again

A petrol tanker loaded with 15,000 litres of premium motor spirit (PMS) caught fire at the early hours of Friday, at Isiokwe Junction, Onitsha, Anambra state.

Anambra Broadcasting Service reports that the tanker experienced a mechanical fault and caught fire in the process.

But according to eye witnesses, the State Fire Service Department came on the scene to put off the fire.

As at press time, there are no reported casualties.

Recall that series of fire incident has occurred in the state.

The 2019 Ochanja fire incident, the Mbuka Obosi market fire as well as the tanker explosion inside a mechanic workshop at Amawbia, had led to the loss of lives and properties.

The Anambra government had also said that adequate measures would be put in place to avert such crisis.
