Anambra Police Arrest Suspected Ritualist While Attempting To Cut Off Lady’s Breast In Motel

One Ogbonna Nwankwo, aged 41, of Ihite town in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, was on 02/08/20 nabbed while attempting to murder and cut off a lady’s breast at Dollar Inn Motel, of the same address, where he had checked in. The victim is one Bella Joseph, ‘f’, aged 29, said to be residing at the motel.

A statement issued by the state command’s police public relations officer, SP Haruna Mohammed, and made available to THE WHISTLER in Awka, stated that, “The suspect allegedly attempted to murder the lady inside the motel room by stabbing the victim with a knife on her stomach, and tried to cut off her right side breast using the same knife, probably for ritual purposes, thinking she was dead before he was apprehended following her shout for help which attracted the attention of the motel manager. Consequently, the scene was visited by the police operatives attached to Umunze Division, and the victim was rushed to the Specialist Hospital, Nnewi, for treatment. The suspect who was seriously manhandled by angry mob and beaten to stupor was equally arrested by the police and taken to the hospital for treatment under police guard.”

Haruna said a blood stained knife was recovered at the scene as an exhibit while the state commissioner of police, CP John B. Abang, had directed that the case be transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department for further investigations.
