Anxiety Mounts Over Osun Monach’s Health As Akirun Rushed To Hospital

There is anxiety in Ikirun, headquarters of the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State over the health of the monarch of the town, the Akirun of Ikirun, Oba Rauf Olayiwola.

Sources close to the palace told journalists on Thursday that Oba Olayiwola, who had been ill was rushed to hospital in Osogbo on Wednesday.

The monarch was reported to have attended a social function on Tuesday and his family and subjects were said to have expressed joy that he had overcone the sickness.

However, the monarch was said to have been rushed to the hospital on Wednesday when the sickness relapsed and he was placed on admission at the hospital.

The source said he feared the worst might have happened as relatives have been coming and were speaking in hush tone at the palace.

When contacted, a former political office holder who is one of the subjects of the monarch told journalists to go to the palace and find out instead of asking him.

However, one of the members of the ruling families in the town said he and members of his family had been receiving calls and they suspected that something had happened.
