APC Lifts Suspension On National Officers

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has lifted the suspension it placed on the Deputy National Chairman, North,  Lawal Shuaibu and National Vice Chairman, North West,  Inuwa Abdulkadir, who were suspended by National Working Committee (NWC) of  the party over alleged anti-party activities.

National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiohmole disclosed this on Tuesday while speaking to newsmen after the party’s NWC meeting on Tuesday.

Oshiohmole, who resumed work at the secretariat after weeks of absence following the FCT high court judgement suspending him, said the party was back with vigour to provide the necessary leadership to members, and decided to lift the suspension.

The national chairman had on Monday got an order of the appeal court, ordering a stay of execution of the Abuja court earlier judgement.

He said: “We’re back with the vigour to provide the necessary leadership to members in building the unity within the ranks of the NWC, because if the head is divided, the bottom can not stand.

“We met today and we have taken a couple of decisions, and when I announce them, answers the questions that you posed. In the course of our work, we have very challenging conversations since we assumed office in June 2018. In the course of these we build for…

“NWC took some decisions. Lawal Shuaibu, Deputy National Chairman, North, at a point NWC decided to suspend him. Today we have reviewed the conditions that led to that. And we believe that in the spirit of our renewed commitment to build unity and true reconciliation, we as leaders of the party, elected at the convention we should lead by example and that means for those who were suspended, we have lifted the suspension so that senator Lawal Shuaibu can resume his duty as deputy national chairman, north.

“we also resolved to review matter of Inuwa Abdulkadir, National Vice Chairman, North West by the same spirit, NWC were unanimous that we have also lift the suspension and he resumes work with immediate effect,” he said.
