Arrest Of Judges: NJC Meeting Enters Day Two

The emergency meeting of the National Judicial Council called over the arrest of seven judges by the Department of States Service, DSS, will continue today, Wednesday.The meeting, which began around mid-day on Tuesday, lasted till evening.

Efforts by Journalists to get details of the outcome of the meeting proved abortive as no one was willing to release information. The crowd of journalists were also not allowed close to the venue.

The SSS had raided the houses of about seven judges over alleged bribery and corruption, between Friday night and Saturday morning.

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, had said the action was in line with the process of investigation, while the National Assembly said it is an abuse of the law.
