The group saluted Diri and his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, for securing victory against the former governor-elect of the state, David Lyon, at the Supreme Court on Thursday.

The court had invalidated Lyon’s victory in the November 16, 2019 governorship election for presenting a running mate with fake certificates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the poll.

In a statement by its coordinator, Reginald Tobin, the PDP Students’ Wing described Diri and Ewhrudjakpo as “the choices of God for Bayelsa State.”

It urged the duo to “lead Bayelsa State with the fear of God and for the best interest of the people, as only good leadership will enable the people of the state to believe in the vision of the PDP in Bayelsa State and Nigeria.”

The PDP Students’ Wing further urged the new administration to involve youths and students in its government by appointing them into its cabinet and various offices.
