Boko Haram: Igbos In Borno To Get Financial Assistance As Gov Zulum Visits Spare-Parts Market

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has commended Igbo traders in Borno for not deserting the state despite the activities of Boko Haram insurgents in the last one decade.

For this reason, Governor Zulum promised financial support for the Igbo traders who mostly deal in automobile spare-parts in the state.

The governor made the pledge when he visited ‘Bola Market’ in Maiduguri on Tuesday.

Zulum, in a Facebook post, revealed that he had recently constructed some roads in Bola which is said to be the most popular market for automobile parts in the state.

He said during the visit, “For the last one decade you (Igbos) have remained firm, and you have been with us all the time. Even, during the peak of the insurgency, even when our people are leaving the state. You people have been selling spare parts here. The Igbo communities that are doing their businesses here are our brothers. Therefore, very soon Government of Borno State will provide financial assistance to you.”

Zulum also visited the state pensions’ office where he inspected ongoing renovation work.
