THE WHISTLER earlier reported that two of the suspects in the UAE were said to have been sentenced to life imprisonment, while four others were reportedly handed 10-year imprisonment each.

On her part, Abike stated that Nigerians should be wary of all forms of criminality wherever they are found.

“6 Nigs convicted in the UAE for wiring $782,000 to Boko Haram. Abubakar Muhammad and Saleh Yusuf Adamu got life imprisonment while Ibrahim Ali Alhassan, AbdurRahman Ado Musa, Bashir Ali Yusuf and Muhammad Ibrahim Isa, got 10 years. They lost their appeal.

‘They can approach the Supreme Court if they so desire, as we continue to appeal to Nigerians all over the world to desist from crime and criminality. The case had been in court since 2015,” She tweeted.

The Federal Supreme Court of the United Arab Emirates ( or Union Supreme Court) is the apex court in the UAE. Fundamentally, it considers judgements by the Appeal court.

Recall that NIDCOM had on another bilateral issue, confirmed that about seven Nigerians who had reportedly protested in Egypt without permits were to be deported back to the country.

She noted that Nigerians should also comply with the laws of their respective host countries.

“Update on the 8 Nigerians detained in Cairo for protesting without a permit, 7 of them are to be deported to Nigeria for lack of resident permits.
