Chelsea started on a bright note and scored five minutes into the first half of the game from a Christian Pulisic strike, but Pierre-Emerick Aubumeyang equalised from the penalty spot at the 28th minute.

Chelsea were the dominant side throughout the game but injuries to key players like the goal scorer, Pulisic, captain, Cesear Azpilicueta, Pedro and a controversial sending off of Mateo Kovasic in the second half made the day a horrific one for the blues.

Aubumeyang made it two for the Gunners from a fine assist by Nicolas Pepe in the 67th minute.

The win ensured their place in next season’s Europa League and now forcing Tottenham, who finished 6th in the league, to go into the second qualifying round of the Europa League if they will have to play in the competition next season.
