President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria,Edward Adamu as the new chairman of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).
The appointment was contained in a letter sent to the Senate by the President on Tuesday.
According to the letter dated December 9 the appointment is in line with Section 10(1) of the AMCON Act, 2010.
“While hoping that this request will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the Senate, please accept, Distinguished Senate President, the assurances of my highest consideration,” The request read.
Adamu is said to replace the former chairman, Muiz Banire who was appointed in July 2018.
