The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye, has finally surrendered himself to the Nigeria Police eight days after the siege on his residence by men of the Force.

Melaye reportedly came out of his house around 3 p.m. and collapsed before his colleagues who were present at the time.

The police took him into custody and reportedly searched his residence before leaving the premises.

He is said to currently be at the head office of the special anti-robbery squad (SARS) in Abuja.

The Senator’s arrest came after he had earlier said he was not in the house and promised to surrender himself to the police when he returns.

Dino Melaye is seeking re-election into the Senate on the platform of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in February this year.
